On Friday, Insee, the statistics office, put a figure on what everyone feels at the till: gross domestic product fell 0.1% in the third quarter, after zero in the second and −0.2% in the first. Three quarters without growth, while the euro zone grows 0.6%. “The French economy has stalled,” admitted Roland Lescure, who swears it “will hit the wall” without the 2027 budget, voted on tomorrow.

What changed yesterday

And at home, since yesterday, diesel costs up to 21 cents less, the State selling its stocks at cost; gas is up 6.6%, supplementary pensions 1.4%, and no one can be evicted until 31 March. A country at a standstill, but not its meters. Which, the country or its people, has really stopped moving?
