18 cents

Diesel has dropped 12 to 18 cents in 6,000 petrol stations out of 10,000, the state selling its stocks at cost: “historic”, says Roland Lescure. Tomorrow, EDF starts changing off-peak hours. And this Tuesday, the pupils’ march is no longer allowed in central Paris.

At the pump this Tuesday morning, the figure is finally up: 12 to 18 cents less on diesel in more than half of the stations, 6,000 out of 10,000, says the government, which is selling its strategic stocks at cost. “What we are doing is historic,” says Roland Lescure. One station, somewhere in France, still shows almost 3 euros a litre, the dearest in the country. Eighteen cents, fifty litres: nine euros a tank.

Tomorrow it is the washing machine that changes its habits. From Wednesday 4 November, EDF changes the off-peak hours of customers who do not yet have the new slots; getting round everyone will take until 30 November 2027. The exact new slots: on the bill, or in the app. The cheapest electricity no longer necessarily starts at midnight.

The march with no address

And in the street this morning, 48 schools and campuses hit by blockades, in Paris, Rennes, Lyon, a “black Tuesday” called by the pupils. In Paris, the march had an address, the centre; on Monday the prefecture banned it and offered the outskirts, Interfac refused and is going to court. Laurent Nuñez, the interior minister: “Repression does not exist.” Thursday, the strike. Nine euros a tank, one wash at night, one street less: what really changes, at your place, this week?
